Buenos Aires!
I arrived quite tired in Buenos Aires (BA) 3. January, and was very happy that Maria would be waiting for me at the airport:) It just took us an hour or so to find each other, apparently Ezezia airport has more than one terminal and more than one meeting point! Jaja...
Got to our hostel in Palermo (Tango Backpackers), and went out for some dinner before meeting up with Elisabeth at our hostel again. Elisabeth has been to BA several times before and we were very pleased with her being a guide for us (Elisabeth is a classmate of Maria by the way...).
Our days in BA has mostly been spent walking around in the city; seeing the casa Rosada, Ricoleta (graveyard where Evita is burried), San Telmo (market), La Boca, and of course- trying the famous argentinean beef. Found a fantastic beef restaurant in Palermo where I had the best beef ever! We even got some sauses with the beef!! (unusual for Argentina). I don´t quite know what I think about BA yet, on the one side it is a fantastic city with grand buildings and cosy markets, but the traffic and pollution is awful here. I don´t think I´ve ever been in such a polluted city before!!
Of course I managed to get ill the last two days in BA (was sleeping right under a fan) and had to spend two whole days in the hostel while Maria and Elisabeth went to exciting Tango shows and out trying the infamous BA night life. The temperatures were around 35 degree also during the days, so I was very happy when we packed our bags and decided to go southwest to the more cooler Bariloche!! :)
