After our 13 hour coach trip, we arrived on the Argentinian side of Iguassu. We crossed the border into Brazil to drop the stuff at the hotel. That afternoon, we went to the Brazilian side, to look at the falls.
First stop was the helicopter trip. It was quite amazing to see it from 500m up. It pretty much looks like a hole in the ground.
After the helicopter trip, we headed for the guided walks. The first was along the lower part of the river, taking you to the bottom of the drop site. At this point, you were able to walk out on a jetty and get sprayed by the mist We then took a lift to the top of the drop and watched the sunset.
The following day, we had an early start, as there are more walks on the Argentinian side. First off, we walked through a bit of forest to get to the train, and then we took the first of a number of walkways alongside the falls. The first was the most spectacular, since it was the largest of the falls. We had a good soaking, and then headed off to the others.
After lunch (Graeme had another steak), we went on a boat ride under the smaller falls. Another good soaking.
Today, we have been to Paraguay this morning, to look at the sunday shopping extravaganza. The price difference between Brazil and Paraguay was amazing, almost half. Paraguay is much poorer.
This afternoon, we headed to Itaipu hydro-electric Dam - the largest in the world. After a few pictures of the overspill and driving over the dam, we went back to the hotel to prepare for our 16 hour bus journey. Sao Paolo bus station, here we come...
