Hello again!
I´ve been lazy on the blogging lately, and struggeling with the internet, but now I´m back ;)
Since last time I wrote we went back to Melbourne... Figures :P But it was so great coming back! Everyone was still there and we had such a great time playing goon pong, staying in Olly and Andy´s room, celebrating some weird dutch holiday and just enjoying the good weather and our friends ;)
After another amazing week with our english-irish-american-welsh-canadian-replacement-family we took the bus back to Sydney, stayed there for on night and flew to Auckland New Zealand.. I already like the city, it´s not too big, not too small and everyone is really friendly here.. Another plus is that nothing can kill you here, no posionous snakes or spiders, bugs or other mischief :P
Our hostel is called the Fat Camel and it is huuuge! A lot of strange people here, but also very nice ones too :)
We get free dinner, which is awesome for a budget-traveller... We are staying in a 8 bed dorm and so far everything is working the way it should.
We went to the art gallery (Tio O Taranga) and saw some Maori art + from local artists, then we went to a New Zealandic patisserie and bought some yummy chocolate.. mmm!
Now we have eaten lunch (a good salad) and we are hanging out in the room after just fixing the internet :)
Afterwards we will eat our free dinner downstairs in the Fat Camel Bar and then go to hunt some cocktails.. (In Australia they had no idea what a real cocktail was, and they were so expensive that you could just forget about even buying one.. We will test how it is here ;) Btw beer in Australia was also pretty bad if you don´t want to search for a micro-brewery that is.. VB - Victoria Bitter is something you should never waste your money on... Goon on the other hand is no waste of money, it just gives you the worst headache in the world afterwards...
We went to see Narnia on of the nights in Melbourne, and it was soo cute! I loved the dragon :) We might go and see another movie here, since the cinema is right around the corner..
We have walked most of the inner inner city now in two days, so the plan is to maybe hire some bikes tomorrow and go to some of the suburbs.. Auckland only has 1,3 million people living here, but has an area bigger than London and as big ass Los Angeles...
On saturday it is the market day, and we will check out at least one or two of them before we head south.
The hostel in Nelson is booked for christmas and in Christchurch for new years ;) We will meet up with a friend of Silja there and we will be 5 or 6 girls celebrating together :)
So far after what I´ve read about NZ I really can´t wait to go to Rotorua, it seems like one of the most exiting places here, and also I really want to go surfing and paragliding! I´ve looked up a lot of places where we could go and now it´s up to us how we´ll get there :)
Also I can inform everyone that it is soooo much cheaper here... The prices are better AND the dollar is better... what more can you wish for for christmas :)
So I think that´s all for now, it hasn´t really been an über-exciting time latly, we mostly enjoyed the company of good friends and there has been a lot of walking around being silly tourists in the city :)
But I´m enjoying every second of it and I´m looking forward to a lot more hiking and nature here in New Zealand!
That´s it for now.. Christmas hugs for everyone!
