This morning was a bad morning. I was woken up to the sound of my alarm as a harsh reminder that we were leaving Koh Tao today. I had to get up and pack my belongings, call a taxi boat to come and pick is up and take us to the rickerty old pier where we would be met by a boat to take us to Koh Samui. We sat in moonlight (by now our favourite reggae bar as we had been there every day) and had our morning fruit shake before we queued up and sadly departed this beautiful island. Unfortunately the angry luggage man was on our ferry again, yelling at people and purposely picking on women that seemed to be alone. Lucky for them everybody else wouldn't take his crap and told him to be gentle. We arrived at Koh Phangan first before we all offloaded, scrabbled to find our bags before we were transferred to another ferry which took us to Koh Samui. We will spend one night here before Sophie flies home and my adventure on my own begins. Koh Samui is a funny place, catered religiously along the beach are various resorts and bungalows and other tourist accommodation but further inland it seems fairly deserted. There are beach bars and restaurants dotted along the beach each boasting fresh seafood and beach lounges looking out onto the water. Sophie and I met a friend from Gap Medics, Ross and we all went out for dinner and a few drinks to celebrate Sophie's time here in Thailand. We want to a bar/restaurant called 'swing bar' that had firetwirling and belly dancing and limbo and music that played well into the night. Suffering from sunburn once again (there really is no way to escape it on the ferries even when slathered in 50+ sunscreen) I headed to bed at around 1am, covered myself in aloe and fell asleep.
