So this is The New Yorker. David and I stayed in this definitely Art Deco hotel for a week. It is found on the corner of 35th Street and 8th Avenue Midtown Manhattan. From here we walked New York or at least Manhattan! The area we stayed in is familiarly named the Garment District. Nearby is Hell's Kitchen. So lots of fabric shops and Irish Pubs. I was not tempted to enter any of the fabric shops they all looked at lot like Jobs wear house in Melbourne! Spangle and glitter fabrics. Our impressions to being with were overwhelmed with the sense of so so many people. Little sense of style or conformity. Except for the buildings! They are magnificent beautiful structures with style grace and size. The engineers of the time must have loved the power and freedom to be creative to design and build the tall, short, decorative and practical buildings for all the multitude of purposes. Inspiring but enough already... Some peace and then central park!
