Soooo we landed safely after a 24ish hour journey of business plans, rude Chinese people and "funny stories"... Me and Josie have already decided that when we run out of money we're opening our own comedy strip club with our USP being that men like funny and naked girls.. Soooo as I can't dance I shall be the main act of waving my hands in the air like a nutter to make them laugh as well as stripping... and we will make a fortune!! ... Maybe!
Arrived in Bangkok and at our hotel checked in & at the pool getting the first of our sunshine and tan lines and being blown of the rooftop pool as it's so so windy!
...the hotel looks like a dump from the outside but is cute on the inside, with a little roof top pool and garden! Thank god.. Roughing it would not be my idea of fun! I pulled the short straw and ended up with Elena in the room (hehe)... But I'm sure I'll be able to stop her talking at some point! But we figured Goonie and Josie snore like old men so best to stick them together!
Were staying on Khoasan Road, which is meant to be the place to be and it does looks fun but it certainly isn't Mexico or Egypt style hotels... Some cute bars and lots of cute jewellery and hair accessories :) - no good for me as my case was already over, so no more clothes shopping allowed! Apparently, There's a bar that's a converted VW van which goon will LOVE so will prob head down there one evening!
We're waiting for Goon (Sarah) to arrive later tonight then I'm sure the cocktails will be flowing for our first night! Sensibly of course! We're also going to plan our next couple of days here... Which will hopefully consist of more cocktails, Thai boxing and maybe a trip to a floating water Market!
Elena is coping well with her back bag- I'm proud of her! Minor whinging! we have had to hoist it on her tiny little frame a couple of times! but I'm not regretting bringing my suitcase one bit.. At the moment ! :S ...
Later that night...
Goon arrived and of course had stories to tell - bladder issues, curries and the friends she had met along her way- one, a gay man going out with a lady boy and then two guys from bristol uni- one who looked like Harry Potter-He had the glasses and the photos will prove it.. however, they ended up getting drunk with us that night and think goon treated them to her iniation...!! (interpret that as you will- but most of us know what goonie is like)..!
So then it turned into our first night out, which was extremely eventful.. I had my first lager experience which I can safely say I won't be doing again- minging and a beer belly?! No thanks! I will stick to the vodka thankyou! and almost being ripped off by pervy Thai men..!
We started in an irish bar - listening to some of the Irish accents- yummieee- then went on to a bar which was like a bar in Spain.. THEN some people thought it would be a good idea to get in Bangkoks famous tuk tuk's and head to a ping pong show... ( and a ping pong show is not like a table tennis game, if you didnt know) .. Well.. I think the words are: scarred for life!!! Horrible experience!!! ... Josie was almost abducted as she thought taking pictures would be appropriate..
We managed to get back to our hotel and when I asked the girls "what shall we do next?!" .. I Had a reply from goon " ping pong show?" ... She had only forgotten the whole experience we'd just had.. Maybe it's for the best!!
But all in all our first night in Bangkok was a raving success and fun was had by all!
Day two was a day of exploring what Bangkok had to offer.. we took another tuk tuk to this tourism place and there was a Swansea boy working there and he was stoned off his face.. Their work ethic is so funny, as in it doesn't actually exist! Put it this way, if any of them worked for me - they would last 2 seconds. It was hilraious as Steve (the Swansea boy) shouted something in Thai and this little Thai girl popped up from no where- maybe it was a location joke but had us in giggles! His sales pitches were fab, and managed to persuade us to go and see this Thai show, go and see chanaburi where the floating Market is and see an extra island when were here- his eyes were showing dollar signs but it'll keep us busy and cost about hundred quit for it all including accommodation (nice hopefully) & transport...
In the evening, we headed to see this "amazing" show in the world's biggest theatre. Granted, the theatre and stage was amazing- it had a river on stage, rained on stage and even had elephants on stage.. And I didnt even know you could train chickens! My first blond moment arrived, after a scene in heaven was being acted, there was a building in the back ground of a temple and me not thinking asked why Big Ben was in heaven.. Mmmm.. However, the show is the most boring thing I've ever witnessed.. At one point, I looked at the girls and they were all sleeping.. We'd felt like we were on haloucigenic drugs with all the randomness that was on stage (my nan would've loved it- haha) ...
After the show, we were all pretty freaked out about the experience that we'd just had so needed a beverage. We headed back to Khoasan road and found this funky bar with a guitarist that was playing Jason Mraz and that sold it.. Mojittos were flowing and very yummy and even though we were going to have a quiet night because of our early start they were going down quite nicely, so We spent most of the night in there. We met the most beautiful Italian investment banker ever.. He was gorgeous.. And minted- what more could you ask for?!
The clock struck 12 and it was now my birthday :) the band sang me happy birthday which was sweet! Closing time then arrived and we had to find somewhere else to go so we ended up in the Irish bar with two french boxers, one really nice & pretty sure the other had split personality disorder! Rolled in at 5am with an 8.30am start to head to the floating market, some waterfalls and to see a tiger on my birthday :) yipeeeeeee !!
The sex tourism here is insane.. It is so interesting to watch.. Me and Elena were watching about five Thai girls/ lady boys (we weren't sure) walking up and down the strip and hanging around hotels until 5am, just to 'pull' a tourist.. And probably ask for money. Goon has named them ladies of the night.. Also, a man and girl sat next to our table looked like they were having an intense conversation and we were guessing pimp giving her a telling off.. But whooooo knows?!
The first of August , day 3 in Thailand has arrived being MY BIRTHDAY!! :D my 22nd year will start in style and will never been forgotten ... We went to Kanchantaburi, which is about 3 hours out of Bangkok.. We had a personal guide who was the cutest guy in the world- such a friendly guy and showed us the ropes. He blasted some Celine Dion, Cliff Richard, Stevie Wonder.. We were loving it- what a brilliant start to my birthday!! We've had a busy busy day- first thing we all were struggling with tiredness/hangovers but when we arrived at the floating market, we perked up..
We hired a boat, which was pricey but worth every penny. He took us around the floating market with fresh fruit and cooking being sold on boats and cute little stalls on the side.. Bought a pretty anklet that will always remind me of my birthday trip out! :) - its a bit of a culture shock seeing how some of them live in dirt and them all being so friendly!
Next on our agenda was Tiger Temple- a monastery that keeps tigers (although the tiger bit is pretty self explanatory) ... It absolutely tipped it down and we were soaked from head to toe but had our piccies taken with a baby tiger, which made it worth the soaked through shoes and scruffed up hair...People had paid to play with the tigers, and to be honest it was cruel and they almost got crushed by about 4 tigers. The tigers, the goats, the horses, the deers were all pretty much drugged up to the max... I chatted to a stoned deer! And considering Thailand is meant to be a drug free country - it's not the impression I'm getting... Animal or human!
Then Mr Suchart (goon has named him Mr Chow) took us to this BEAUTIFUL waterfall.. It was the prettiest thing I've seen.. Me and Josie being the little adventurers climbed the waterfall to the top, then Elena and Goonie braved it .. (it was still raining at this point, but excitement took over not to care- and that's impressive for me, as rain is not my friend)... We climbed back down almost falling on ours bums, infact Elena did! Me and Josie then got in the waterfall pool..! I know, me at home with nature- who would've thought!
A three hour journey back to Bangkok from Kanchanturi was slightly tough on us all- so we had a sing song with Mr Chow and Stevie Wonder and had our nap before my birthday night out!
My birthday night out was the best thing I've ever experienced! We went to one of the 100 top rated bars in the world.. Sky Bar on the 64th floor of a 5 star hotel.. Where the hangover two was filmed and the most amazing views of Bangkok... Cant wait for you all to see the photos..!! The people there were ridiculously rich and I put on my posh voice in hope a hollywood actor would sweep me off my feet.. This is how I see my life in five years!! .. An actor however wasn't present so we had some photos, a drink and admired the view before heading back. When leaving to go back to road I felt a little bit like a pauper!
When we got back from the view of the century.. We had to go back to change as we were " too dressy" to go out on Khoasan road. Ended up back at the same Irish bar again with these Irish primary school teachers, who were a right "craic" - to put in their words.. and the sexy Italian (who turned out to be a bit of a twat)... After many sing songs, accents and taking the mick out of lovehimself italian with our Irish friends, we all rolled in at 6am when the sun was coming up!
I officially received one of the worst compliments ever from the Irish teacher, which was that I looked like a primary school teacher... I mean reallllllllly?!?
But from visiting that amazing hotel/bar/views tonight I've decided that before I die I want to visit the 100 top bars in the world for cocktails- then I will be happy!! Depressing i know- but you got to think of these things! - also known as Lizzy Loo's Bucket List :)
That sums up Bangkok... Were leaving on a jet plane... Mmmm.. Actually a cheap ass sleeper train (1st class, air con) ... No holding back if I'm stuck on there for 12 hours.. So fingers crossed we'll make it in one peice. Heading to Kho Samui for a couple of days..
Chow for nowwwww..
