I've arrived safely! :)
Everything went smoothly with the flights, so long though!!! I was lucky, after speaking with Nikki it turns out my flight was much nicer than hers. I had my own tv in the seat in front that had loads of films and tv shows I could choose from, and the plane was modern and clean and the food was really nice.
I met Nikki at the airport and we go our transport to the hotel. The room is lovely, it has air con, a balcony and it's very clean, although Nikki says we should enjoy it while it lasts beacuse we're not going to have accomodation like this again. The staff are also really polite and helpful.
We waited for Lina to arrive then we went out to get dinner. The roads here are MENTAL. there are so many people on mopeds and they don't seem to follow any rules. We have to cross the road the asian way, which is just walk very slowly across and they avoid you. It's taken me a while to get used to this because your first instinct is to just dart across like we do at home.
we walked for a bit until we found a resteraunt, which was actually quite hard because there are so many signa everwhere that it's hard to see what shops are in front of you until you are directly on top of them. We finally found somewhere that resembled a restaurant so we went in. Luckily, the menu had (very funny) english translations, and we chose baked cat fish, eel rolla, vegetables and garlic and chicken in lemon sauce with rice. The catfish came whole and we had to break them apart with our hands, but they were really really tasty. All the food was nice actually and it only cos us about 3 pounds each!! cans of coke in the restaurant only cost 30p!
Lina couldn't eat all the meals though, because she has a really bad nut allergy. She has a card that says 'I can't eat nuts I am allergic' in Vietnamese and she has to show it everywhere we go. She also had to teahc us how to inject her with adrenaline if she does accidently have some, so I hope we don't have to ever do that!
