Ok so next stop was cordoba. We are slowly making our way up towards the bolivian border while the girls are making their way towards Peru, so North suited us all! To be honest hadn{y heard a whole lot about Cordoba but it seemed like a nice place so hopped on the 17 hour bus! We{re becoming pros at this bus malarky...overnight is the only way to go. Bus left at half four, that gave us just enough time to read a little, eat crappy bus food, watch a stupid jenifer lopez movie before it was sleep time! And sleep we did!
Got off the bus and headed for one of the HI hostels recommended, all bailed into our room and set about bag explosion! This is basically what most girls do when they arrive at a new hostel! Its almost like a competition to see who can pull their rucksack apart the quickest! You can imagine what our room looked like after five girls gave it a whirl!?!
As we arrived pretty early in the morning we had the whole day to explore the city. I{ll be honest, it wasn{t one of the most impressive places we have been to. I mean, beautiful city, loads f fabulous churchs and museums but other than that, nothing spectacular. There was the bonus of very good weather but being a large land locked city didn´t bode well for any sun bathing which was annoying!
That night, we thought we might be able to find some bars to mingle in, what with Cordoba being one of the largest university cities in Argentina but that also was not to be! We pretty much made up our minds that although, we really liked the city, it wasn´t a place we needed to stick around for a very long time! Plus we had discovered that Cordoba des have great shopping and it had already made huge dents in our pockets after only one day! It was time to leave!
We booked a late night bus for the following evening. That day we tried to hide from all the shops but turns out we´re not very good at hiding! We were pretty glad when 9pm came and it was time to get on the bus! Next stop....Salta!
