So following another liovey bus journey we landed in Puerto Madryn fresh faced relaxed and redy for what this town had to throw at us.... One could say it was appropiate as I think we landed in a one man town... bad timing and culture differences meant theat siesta was in full flow... never fear we found a hostel and walked teh same road easily 10 times to sort out how to get out of here.... i meanthat is the best possible way! We decided a two day road trip and base our selves in PM was the way forward. Car sorted all we need d to do was wait for the ladies to land from BA and off the 5 of us went .
Day one we headed to Punto Tombo.. yes i did die and go to Penguin Heaven! I wont bore you with teh stats but it ois one of the largest Penguin colonies in the world and impressive but not waht we expected!! Photos will follow when we can find somewhere that will let us upload!!
Luckily in one wayy we werent staying in party central as 8 hours behind the wheel on Argentinian roads and dirt tracks had taken its tool we took it easy and got ourselves re-charged for day 2.
Day two- we hit the road early and headed on teh Pensuila Valides drive. First stop pyrimides for teh whale watching. We spent hour hand half on teh sea watching whales and managed to find mother and baby whale amd were ah struck with teh sights!! Due to being luckily enough to sail with one of the best skippers in Argentina we had an amazing time landed back to shore for teh 6 hour dirt track drive around the Penisula- being blessed with a good dj in the back we survived the wilderness and "loose" animals and got to see some more whales penguins sealions walrus and beautiful scenery. a conversation we had springs to mind what has been the highlight so far.. i think it is agreed Eiv what do you think the fantastic few from the cliff top of the sea and 5 orcas no distance from us!!
Once again we were back on the road and headed back to Puerto Madryn for a few beers that were duely deserved and planned our next leg.. next stop Cordoba!! 20 hours n a bus is nothing to us... who would have thought we would ever say such a thing!!
T and Eiv x
