Going to bed early meant waking up early for me, and I used the early morning to great effect exploring Hermanus, wich must surely be the cleanest town in SA! Not one South African national flower ( plastic bag ) in sight. I couldn't believe my eyes. Also, the residents here lead active, healthy lifestyles, everywhere I looked, people where either jogging, cycling, or swimming. I even saw, what looked like a 70 year old granny, body boarding in the waves, the coolest gran ever, in my books! No whales though, Whale cows search the shelter of the bay to calve between August and November, so be sure to visit then, and get within a stones throw of these marine colossus.
After sight seeing for a while I got back to Vermont, where I packed up camp, and aimed for George.
