Hey hey! We spent the last days either on the beach or driving up the coast so not much time for blogging, but we now got to San Francisco where we are having a pretty amazing laid back time and can finally sit down and type about bits and pieces we met on the road. California welcomed us with bright sunlight and massive hamburgers + piles of pancakes. Knowing how much we enjoy eating and how we never want to leave anything in the plate american portions are literally killing us! We spent almost two days in LA where we met Lorenzo, who is becoming a pilot there. Too bad he could not yet fly us over the ocean! We spent a cool sunday on venice beach among surfers and freaks- so cool. The place is literally crowded with little spontaneous happenings: middle aged roller skaters dancing, a snowboarding slope with real snow, flying skateboarders, groups of drummers who attracted even more people dancing around them. The beach is so wide and long and I really like that all of it is open to everybody so there is an amazing mix of people on the beach. A democratic beach, really. I would say it's the best spot in LA, which otherwise is just too big to be pretty. We had a quick tour through hollywood where we even managed to get in the Whisky a go go, a spot where so many rock bands played and still play, from The Who to Guns'n Roses... Ed was obviously SOO excited and I should say the place is actually cool. Ed had also a chance to dive into some extra giant guitar shops, from which he emerged hours later partially confused but extremely happy. In the meantime I believe I was probably eating junk food in a corner- or sunbathing-possibly both. It was great to see Lorenzo and in this short visit kind of get the best out of LA. During our whole trip I should admit we have become a bit wild and really by now we can't be in a city for too long...So hitting the road seemed right.
