Summer in the USA means Road Trip! Our pick this year , a quick 8 hour drive of 425 miles from Boston to Washington, to address a parental failing: our kids have not (yet) seen the Capital city of the country to which they were born.
The picture is not DC, it's a small town diner somewhere in southern New Jersey.
The waitress said she recognized us by the way Evelyn ordered lasagna, we politely told her that we really were not there last week. A good American diner, what a great way to celebrate the USA, I love diners, partly for the slice of life you see and partly because you can order breakfast, a Reuben sandwich and lasagna and chocolate cake, no worries about what meal it is.....
Arrived in DC in time for a swim and great Thai food (Siam House, Cleveland Park) before the pretty violent thunderstorm.
A good week to be in DC, the Republicans are in Cleveland Ohio to nominate Trump and Pence for the presidency.
Its been bothering me for a few day: is Trump-Pence more than tuppence but less than thruppence?
Off to see the sights
