Day 4 part 2
On the way to eat with the team, we ran into two of the welsh family getting their feet done by the Doctor fish, Sarah (Australian) started screaming when we got here as she spotted two of the cast from Home and Away (Romeo and Ruby) who were also getting their feet done at the same time.
The place we went to eat was quite nice. I had a mixed BBQ which they cooked at the table for me, this consisted of Kangaroo, Crocodile and Ostrich meat. Andy had the same but with Snake instead of Crocodile. The Kangaroo meat was nice, tasted much like beef, the crocodile was nice too. The Ostrich wasn't as nice but was ok. The snake was very very tough, like eating rubber and had little taste to it.
After we ate, Andy and myself went to get our feet done by the doctor fish. It was quite ticklish to begin with and was good fun.
After getting this done, me and Andy went to the Night Market which was a nice atmosphere. We bought some small canvas paintings each and then got a TukTuk back to the hotel.
Day 5
We got up today at 4am to get on a bus at 4.45 to the Angkor Wat temple for sunrise, we arrived there at 5.30 and went inside the walls of the temple and sat on the steps of a smaller building to watch the sunrise over the central building.
After that we went to get breakfast and a few people went up in the baloon which takes you up about 200m to view the temple from above. We then left to see other temples, the first was where they did some of the Tomb Raider film and Two Brothers film. We moved onto another temple which was more of a Palace with a city of wooden houses around it all within the walls, this temple is one with faces carved into the larger pillars on all 4 sides.
We left the temples at midday to get a free afternoon in the city of Siem Reap. At 4pm myself, Andy, Sarah, Chris and Helen (NZ) went on Quad Bikes through the countryside to see some smaller villages and sunset over the paddy fields; unfortunately there wasn't much of a sunset as it was quite cloudy by this time.
Upon arriving back at the hotel after this, we went out quickly to 'The Temple' restaurant/bar where we ate and watched Apsara dancing, we got free t-shirts too.
After eating we sat downstairs in the bar (the restaurant was upstairs) for a bit before heading back to the hotel as everyone was tired by this time.
