I've made it down to the Bay Islands in Honduras. Very nice but am feeling the heat!!
I've been "chilling out" here for the last 4 days and head off again tomorrow morning. The islands is very laid back and I've had a good time. It's completey set up for diving though and I was a bit disappointed today when the local Doctor (Doc John!) said I couldn't dive as I get occasional wheze with exercise/cold. All this after a 6 and a half hour wait on the porch of his surgery on a VERY hot day ( and 15 US dollers charged for the privellage).
Never mind - more money to spend somewhere else.
The last week has been pretty busy and I'm getting into travelling independently. It's a good feeling to think you can go (or just stay) where ever you feel like.
The two other main places I've been are the Mayan ruins of Tikal and an intesting place called Livingston. Tikal was great and I've put lots of photos on th website- watch out for the one of me holding a Teranchula!
Livingston was very different to the rest of Guatemala and was only accessable by boat. It's on the Caribean coast and has a real Caribeam fel to it. Bit to hot for my liking but I had a good time - Hooke up with a couple of Canadiens, an Israeli and an Argentinean.
Of to Nicuagua next...Apparently even hotter than here! I'm dreming of high cold mountains in South America. I fly Panama to Ecuador on 1st Nov.
