Just over 2 weeks into my time in Dunedin and I'm starting to feel settled in. I got here on a Friday and started work on the following Tuesday so it has taken a while to get things like house, car, mobile, etc sorted. I'm in a good house about 25 mins walk away from the hospital (which is in the centre of town). My housemates are Nick, Elisha and Shelley and the are all very friendly and welcoming. 2 hours in Singapore airport. Was pretty shattered from the 12 hour flight across from London and had only a short time here before the 9 hour journey to New Zealand. Did manage a quick drink and went for a long rapid walk around the airport (after so long cramped in the plane). I get 48 hours here on the way back to the UK, so will have time to head into central Singapore and have a look around.
Last weekend in the UK and I was back in Southampton for Stu and Sarah's wedding. I tried to be a bit restrained as I was flying out of the UK 2 days later but did end up drinking my fair share of wine. The full cooked breakfast the next day (see photo) sorted me out though. Has been a busy 6 weeks back in the UK but I've got a lot of things done. Was good to catch up with people at varrious homes/weddings/stag do's.Â
Arena's Stag do in Cork...on St Paddy's day...on the day of Wales Vs England in Rugby... Was an excellent weekend and topped off by the Welsh win in the Rugby. Got quite nackered over the weekend and picked up a stinking cold but was good to catch up with everyone. The big win for the "kitty" on the last horserace in Limerick was also very welcome. Got to spend an extra few days in Southern Ireland with my folkes who were over for a week long holiday....
Back home in the UK for 6 weeks...COLD!I headed up to even colder Newcastle for Andrew Ace's Wedding in stunning Maflen Hall. It was a good day and we were treated to a display of Kareoke that I find hard to put into words - just look at the effort on Ace's face! After keeping them safe for 6 months in South America I thought my camera and passport would be pretty safe in the UK.Didn'tthink I'd manage to loose the passport a...
