I am en route back to my home in the Netherlands. It's feels great to be back, I was actually homesick for my Dutch home...
I'll summarize my trip a bit now as I'm hoping to be pretty busy once home. I spent Friday in Sweden in the city of Malmo, it's a beautiful city and I really hope to return to visit it again as we'll as the countryside. I mostly wandered the streets taking in he beauty and culture. There were some cool themed playgrounds I had to visit :P one of which was a giant spider! I didn't hit a lot of touristy places as usual. I did however stumble upon a very cool dog park! It was huge and open, there were scattered areas for different activities such as agility courses. I was in heaven! Between this and living with a family of malamute breeders I am craving having a dog again. We'll see how that goes...
On Saturday I met up with a group of couchsurfers in Copenhagen, we had coffee and later went out to a bar. There were two gentlemen from France, an Asian, a girl from the Czech Republic, a guy from BC, and another girl who joined us just as I left so I am not sure where she was from. It was great fun and eventful as I almost got in a bar fight! lol okay maybe a bit of a stretch to say that, it was more of an altercation where a guy was a little too drunk and needed my elbow in his rib cage to remind him to have some manners! But however you look at it, you have to agree it was an eventful night ;) The bus ride home was a bit sketchy, some interesting people for starters and then my bus stopped running its route after I was on it so I had to get off and find my way on the night busses. All in all a fun day!
Sunday I was definitely ready for a quiet day and being my last full day in Denmark, I spent it with my host family. We had a couple and their 15 month old son over for lunch, I had a great time conversing with them and holding the sweet little boy when ever I could :) now I'm on the train home I've been working my way slowly home since getting on the plane at 14:40 this afternoon (20:40 now) so it's been a long and tiring day.
P.S traditional Danish food is awesome! Very salty for most dishes, but I love the liver spread stuff the use often ;P
