Back on the train again, so time for another episode. This time we have left Seville, and are headed for Avignon. We visited the Alcazar and did the requisite Flamenco show, (after which Karl could understand why I asked to move away from the front row, as we were now not the ones covered in offcast sweat). We did a lot of shopping. Our little apartment was very simple but clean and located really well in the old part of town, which I always try to arrange if I can.
The department store in Seville has a Flamenco dress department and their fabric stores are filled with fancy laces and bright, spotted cotton. The most fun though, were the stores that sold cheap, Nanna clothing and hospitality and medical uniforms, as well as Flamenco dresses, that was truly surreal.
The Alcazar is amazing, a real mix of Moorish and Gothic and really well designed for a hot city, catching a breeze in every single room.
We got out just in time though, the hot weather is about to hit Seville, and that is likely to make it a lot less pleasant.
We are slowly tracking out of Barcelona now, we've been on the tracks since 8.50 this morning and will get into Avignon at about 8.50 tonight. It's not a bad way to see the countryside, but we are constantly amazed at other passengers inability to even find the right carriage, let alone the right seat. It isn't hard people, they have numbers!
