My final day in Bled invloved a walk up to a gorgeous gorge! Very lovely waterfalls and cool by the water. For lunch I ate a burek *pastry filled with salty cheese* which was boke so I fed it to the swans by the lake. I thought, now if this was a pizza burek, or had pesto or SOMETHING to make it tasty it might be nice....
So yesterday I finally left Bled after a cheeky third night free at the hostel, which was nice because I got to know some people there really well. Yesterday was a chilled Sunday. I managed to buy suncream above factor 20 but under 10euro finally (after much shopping around).
My feet are really smelly because I brought cloth shoes and I feel like a scaff, because people here look at them to judge your status, like how we look at peoples clothes.
I got a lovely train to Ljubljana pronounced Looby Ana. (as far as I can tell). *Robyn can you tell I'm on a better keyboard?* The weather was lovely, and I strolled around the old areas. It's a bit backward though, all the shops were shut, including supermarkets!
I took the funicular railway up to the castle and looked out over Ljubljana. And for lunch I ate a much improved pizza burek! Though all the food here is pizza, kebabs, burgers and bureks (ming!) There was a basketball event going on in town so there was a good buzz about the place. I sat waiting for my train to Zagreb and some girls came up to me and asked if I spoke English (pale ginger girls holding guide books tend to apparently) so I helped them find their train to Bled, which was nice.
Then when I was on the platform an American guy started chatting to me (he could see my kindle was in English) and we talked all the way to Zagreb (capital of Croatia!) From there I took a delightful overnight train to Split, Croatia (where I am now). The bunk beds went 3 high- I was supposed to be on top- but it was just me and an English girl so I clambered down one (vertigo!) but felt like I might fall out the window (I was at the same level as it). So I took a sleeping pill and passed out.
It all seemed quite luxurious, we even got a croissant in the morning! In Croatia I've been told the people are friendly. And just stepping off the train I ended up in conversation with a Croatian, so I feel very relaxed, although the weathers rubbish here at the moment! Ciao!

Louise Sounds brilliant. I wish I were there - although we've had a little sunshine here for once. I don't have your itinerary - was I supposed to? Anyway, enjoy; sounds like your coping with the solo travelling pretty damn well.
