The next day we drove to Barrytown on the West Coast of NZ. Karlyn had already decided that our theme for the night was going to be clowns, so we stopped at a shop to buy facepaint, and during our trip along the coastline (visiting seal colony at Cape Foulwind, doing some walks and checking out Punakaiki Pancake Rocks) half of the bus already turned into clowns.We all had clown names, and we were supposed to use those names when checking in in hostels, haha. Karlyn was driving the bus as a Kinky clown, kinda scary looking one that is ;-). I decided to turn myself into a vampire clown, including some dracula teeth.Had a rough night in Barrytown. I was feeling kinda depressed during the day, was really about to cry. Yup, ik weet ook niet wat het is, maar voel me echt hopeloos zo af en toe. En als je dan in een bus zit van iemand die je een jaar niet gezien hebt en je kan geen eens een gesprek op gang krijgen, en je hebt geen enkel idee of diegene je uberhaupt ziet als iets meer dan gewoon een van de passagiers dan word je daar toch wel een beetje verdrietig van. Nouja, ik wel. Voelde mee echt doodongelukkig en onzeker.

So I needed some distraction ! And yeah, it's all a bit easier with some alcohol....and other stuff....literally. Played some drinking games and played pool with Karlyn. Have to practice my skills though, I really suck at playing pool. Jimmy, one of the locals asked if we wanted to come over to his place when the pub (annex hostel annex restaurant) closed down. Only Nick and Correy went, we went to bed. Woke up quite early, so deciced to join the bonecarving workshop. Made another bonecarving. Just a cool way to spend some time making your own thingy. Took off in the direction of Franz Josef at about 12.30 to drop off Steve at the trainstation in Greymouth. He was going to run a marathon next weekend, but was soooooo hammered in Barrytown.On our way to Franz we did a quiz in the bus, questions about New zealand. And....I won, so I'm the new owner of Lamd, Karlyn's bungy sheep ! So got a new buddie !Karlyn made us a very nice group meal in Franz Josef, something with sausages, mashed potatoes and cheese. Most people booked an activity on the glacier for the next day, but I did that last year. So everybody went to bed early, except for Mona, Karlyn and me, so we watched some videos and played cards in Karlyn's room. (Jaja, inderdaad ja, in zijn kamer, maar ik heb mijn bespringneigingen kunnen onderdrukken hoor, hahaha.). Hmmm, another late night, went to bed at 3. So a very lazy day for me the next day. Checked my emails, washed my clothes, watched some DVD's (The Crow, good movie) and prepared a group meal (Spaghetti Carbonara) with Ann and Mona for the people who came back from their full day glacier hike. Went to the bar to play Bingo, but almost fell asleep, so an early night for a change.Early departure to Makarora, via Haast. A really nice trip with stunning views. Rainforest, waterfalls, beautiful. Karlyn explained a game a couple of days before. If you kiss a lollipop man (wegwerkesr met bordjes STOP of GO) he buys you a drink. Already spotted a Spaceship, so one drink for me. And we passed a roadwork spot. With lollipop men ! So asked Karlyn to stop over, jumped out, ran to the guy and kissed him. Hahahahaha. And stopped at the next one for another kiss and hug. Three free drinks for me, and a lot of fun. Well, first kisses since ages ;-).Two Danish girls decided to take the challenge to jump into Blue Pools (very cold water !!!) and stay in for 30 seconds, and won a free meal by doing it. Mmm, poor driver !

Normally Makarora is Karaoke night, but nobody was feeling like it. Ha a nice lamb meal, and the got my three free drinks. Bloody...... Karlyn bought some shots, and they turned out to be pure JD shots, and I can tell you, drink three of them in a minute and you get drunk on teh spot...damn. I actually saw three Garces instead of one, and that apparently was pretty funny. I always get very blurry vision when I drink.

Instead of the usual big night in Makarora almost everybody went to bed, and we ended up watching DVD's in Karlyn's room again with some people. Ik was de laatste die weg ging, beetje nuchterder gelukkig. Had natuurlijk expres in slaap kunnen vallen daar, maar thta's not my style. How to make a fool of yourself…..mm, rather not. Dus lekker in mijn eigen bedje.
