Ey peops ! How is our "kikkerlandje"doing ? Haha, don't no a way to translate that into proper English, " little frogcountry" doesn't seem to make any sense. Well, the Dutch people know what I mean.. Not that I already miss it, hahaha..no way !T
he weather is a bit better right now. It's still kinda chilly, but sunny. Our room in ACB is freezing though...we're on the tenth floor, so you hear the wind blowing all the time, and the airconditioning is full on. Brrrrrrrr....you have to wear a sweater to keep warm.I was actually planning to move to another hostel, but I'm quite indecisive at the moment (and hating myself for it, but I should give myself a break...just moved to the other side of the world with the intention of staying there....so it might be OK to be a bit indecisive) .
So yesterday I just booked another night in my room, and so I did today.I packed all my stuff to move out, but it didn't really feel good. It's a bit scary to move again I guess, and I just started to get to know some people. They will be moving out this week, so I'm probably moving to another (larger) dorm tomorrow for a weekly rate of 150 dollar, but stay in the same hostel. They've showed me the rooms in the Fat Camel, it's more like an apartment, and you can stay there for 130 a week. But I'm not sure yet how long I'm gonna stay in Auckland. And I kinda like the anonymousity (did I get that word right ???) of the place for now.
Not that I don't want to meet people, I met some really nice Danish and German girls, I do have a great Danish roommate and we had a very funny Japanese guy in our room for 2 nights. I guess I just need the comfort of a familiar place for now, that's why I'm a bit hesitant to move out, and I suppose nothing's wrong with that. I'll just go when I feel ready...and ACB is not a bad place to stay for a while. But looking forward to all NZ has to offer...catch some waves in Raglan yay ! And according to Worm there might be snowboarding on Ruapehu till Christmas !
I do have the interview with the recruitment agent tomorrow and then I'll probably know a litle bit more. Maybe I have to stay around Auckland for interviews (if they have some jobs in mind already), but otherwise I'd like to get out of town. My leg feels better as well, so I can't wait to do some walks ! And my roommate is thinkig about doing the Stray trip to the Bay of Islands this week, before taking off to Christchurch next Sunday, so I could hop on that bus as well. Got Stray some new passengers already, might pop in their office with the German girsl who want to book a Stray tour as well ! They couldn't decide between Kiwi and Stray, but I could convince them to Stray (or I should have to kill them hahaha).
We went out to do some karaoke two nights ago after having free pizza at the Globe bar, but the All Blacks were playing the Wallabies at the final of the Trinations Cup. Still love the haka at the start of the game ! We ended up watching the second half in the ACB TV room coz it was nice and warm in there, and we got free beers as well. It was a close finish, but the All Blacks won, yay ! And we skipped the karaoke for the night...just went to bed ;-).
I've just been cruising around Auckland a bit, went to K road yesterday which has some nice secondhand shops...and loads of gaybars and sexshops as well haha. One of the German girsl took a newspaper for jobads, just to find out it was actually a copy of the Gay Express....so she left it under the pillow of one of her male roomies ;-).Ow, and I bought some very nice trousers and shoes at the Warehouse for my jobinterview. The trousers were only 30 dollars ( 15 euro) and the shoes were......just 8 !!!!!!
I donwloaded a lot of jobads, so I've got heaps of letters to write. Most of the people that read this blog know that I'm not that good in doing nothing. Start to feel abit useless when it takes too long.Need some adrenalin going once in a while.... But i know from last year it takes some time to ease down and start to go with the flow. Yes, I'm here on a mission (to find a job) but I'm also here to enjoy myself and have a great time. So right now I'm trying to get myself in the laidback Kiwi mode instead of the Dutch stressy mode. Sweet as.... will be continued !!!! Roger out !
