Yes ok so I was meant to leave Sydney for a bit but who care's.......I Love It!! :-)
So still here and feel like a proper Sydneysider now. Apart from the daily tramps asking for money or pretty much anything and people trying to sell you stuff or turn you into a Jesus lover, its such a wicked place.
Lots of things to do and see. More festivals at darling harbour, party cruises, party buses, irish pubs, weekend markets, beaches, working - its been a busy couple of months. Starting my new hospital job in Haematology on Monday 23.11.09, can't wait!
Headed over to Manly one weekend to meet up with Ang for a picnic at Shelly Beach. For the first time I actually felt like I was on holiday (think its the suncream smell) Had a great day but as i've come to realise living in Sydney you never know what the weather will bring so after bragging to everyone back home that id spent the day lying on the beach the next day it was thunder & lightening all day long...... Totally ruined my plans for the Sunday.
Worked at Sacred Heart Rehab for just over a month and it was really good. Not quite Maryfield but the staff were all really nice & got to know the patients too, some of whom were a hoot.. Great bunch & was really sad to leave.
After my rained out weekend I finally got to the Chinese Garden of Friendship, which was a lot better than I had expected. Say what you want about the chinese but they sure know how to make a pretty garden. Ok so I didnt pay $10 to look like a tit & dress up to walk about but it was lovely. Maybe if Ang was there we would've... haha
Went to the Sculptures by The Sea Festival at Bronte to Bondi, really bizzare but I suppose if your in to your art you'd love it. Plus you can't argue with amazing pics with such an amazing view. We also had a noodle market up at Hyde Park and the Markets by Moonlight has begun down at The Rocks.
On the housing front....well unfortunately me & Lianne are still on the hunt but fingers crossed we'll get there soon. As a certain irish guy says 'my standards are too high'.. Not really I just dont want to live in a squat but if they want to throw in a tv & dvd player I am more than happy.. hahaha!! (I miss my DVD nights) Although I have been catching up with movies at the cinema on George St - gotta be done.
This weekend (Saturday 21.11.09) I finally did my Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. Luckily my pal from Dundee Angie and her friend Fiona were doing it too so we all did it together. Such a brilliant day out. I was to say the least really nervous before hand. After some weight-lifting pics before hand we headed up to check in. And now the nerves really kick in watching the video. We also saw all the pics of the celebs who have done the climb but as Liam our guide told us, they get a private tour of the bridge & also for Free!! Huh..typical. Once we got our space-looking suits on and our belts, headphones, handkerchiefs, hats, sunglasses etc on we were pretty much set to go. The walking to the pylon was the scariest part cos I could see underneath me and how far up we actually were. After climbing what felt like 600 steps we reached the Arch!!! :-) This is where is got really exciting and so much fun. The views were just amazing and for someone who freaked at the Blue Mountains, I felt really relaxed and took in the amazin views. Our guide was great and we were in no hurry as we walked up the arch and stood right underneath the flags. I love the city anway but standing up there really made me appreciate what a great place this really is...
Well thats all for now cos I have a memory like a fish & can't remember anything else...
