After my adventure into Inner Mongolia I spent the rest of my April weekends in Beijing to save some money (or at least try to!)
11/04 - Paul Oakenfold weekend - We heard Oakenfold was DJing at Banana in Beijing so we bought some tickets and had a brilliant time dancing on the bouncy dancefloor!
18/04 - Girls weekend - the boys had gone travelling to Harbin so the girls had a nice girlie weekend in Beijing. We stayed at Wanfujing hostel which is now our "home away from home" - some of the staff are even learning our names now! On Saturday night the girls and I decided to make an effort for once so we all got dressed up and headed to Hou Hai Lake to sit on the roof terraces and drink some ice cold beer now the temperature in Beijing had really started to heat up!
25/04 - Park weekend - finally had a decent week of teaching (which hadn't happened in quite a while!) the topic was crime and all the students, espaecially the boys, got really into it! I'd also started tutoring one of the students so was getting a bit more income and as I'm spending money like it's going out of fashion (nothing changes!) this was great news! On Friday night we went to Grandma's Kitchen for a bit of western food and had an early night. On Saturday morning we headed Ritan Park to chill out in the sun and in the evening we went to a house party round our newly made Sweedish friends apartment! We spent Sunday in Yuyuantan park soaking up some more sun. Earlier in the week I'd also been told that the students would once again be having exams so I wouldn't need to teach. This meant more travelling for me and I had booked tickets to Xi'an so I left the park and headed to the railway station to go on my solo adventure...
