Hi there boys and girls
Only one week to go until we leave Australia! we are very excited as we have been here for exactly five months. As soon as we left Melbourne, time has flown really quickly. We were in Adelaide again for a week staying with Dubs's family, where we passed the time going to the beach in Glenelg and visiting some museums in the City. We capped off the trip by going to a very amusing football match: Adelaide United V Shangdong Luneng in the Asian Champions League, the game ended 1-0 to Shangdong and we missed the hillarious own goal because Cess and Dani were in the toilet. The best thing about the game were the over exhuberant Chinese fans that cheered each time Shangdong got the ball past the half-way line. Anyway, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time in Adelaide and we miss all of Dubs's family loads.
We got to Brisbane 2 days ago and instantly noticed the difference in the weather. It was really humid for once, so it was not like an oven. Brisbane is also really built up, it was like being back in Melbourne. We are staying in the Palace Backpackers in the City Centre. It is quite an experience to say the least. They have announcements every hour such as "Wet T-shirt competition in the bar downstairs" or more annoyingly "This is your ten am wake up call" Everyone in the hostel seems to be English and between the ages of 18 and 21, so we feel like the parents. The room is quite small and it is always noisy, so it was wise of us to invest in ear plugs!!! The first night we went to the Down Under Bar and Grill (The hostel bar) where we got cheap pints whilst we watched the Chelsea V Porto Champions League Highlights! Dubs also had a $6 (2 pound 20) steak! NICE!
On Friday, we went for a walk around the Southbank, which reminds us of the Southbank in London only more exotic, they have a man made beach (YES A MAN MADE BEACH) right by the river in the centre of the City! absolutely crazy! In the evening we went round to Celia's uncle Bruce's house for a Barbecue! It was very tasty! Today, we walked round the botanic gardens and we went to check out the school where Cess's mum went when she was a teenager! the history! the nostalgia! amazing! we then went on the Sea Cat to explore the Brisbane River before going to the Belgian beer bar for a Hoergarden and a Leffe Brun!
Tomorrow we are going to Noosa for two nights and then we are going to Rainbow beach. We are going there by coach and we will be back in Brisbane on Friday! Katie and Ishan will be there so we will meet them again! What is annoying is that we did not even use half of the 5000km bus pass we bought in England, so basically we have wasted over a hundred quid each! but the main thing is that we are happy! anyway we are off to bed now because we have an early start tomorrow! Take care people, keep in touch!
