One year with no football! How will they survive?
Hi guys,
been in new york for a couple a days now and we'r spendin WAY to much money- dont know wot on, mainly water- we are constantly thirsty here and even the bottled water seems2 be well salty! We're stayin in Tribeca with my (Cess) cousin Julian and his wife Flora (and dog Rudy-everyone has a dog here). its where they filmed hitch and ghostbusters- all the streets are well gorgeous!
so on wednesday we did a bit a shoppin during the day and in the evening we went to see the delights of Major League "Soccer" which was an experience and a half. We went to see Red Bull New York (YES RED BULL OWN THE TEAM!) vs DC United, so finally we got to see if Freddy Adu was gonna be worth the Thirty Million nicker Chelsea will inevitably splash out on him. Realistically, we wouldn't have traded our hot dog for him, he was turd, therefore got replaced at half time. Youri Djorkaeff was also just as turd. Basically, what was strange about the game was that they played the National Anthem before kick-off, however, nobody was singing, which we thought was very weird, however, we then realised that everyone was Hispanic inside the stadium, and all the announcements were also in Spanish as well as English, as was the programme! The seats were GIGANTIC.
On reflection, as the game was a dull 0-0 affair, what was more entertaining was the authoritarian bus driver that took us from Port Authority Bus Station to the Meadowlands sports complex! The bus tickets were in two halfs, upon presenting the ticket to the bus driver, he blasted back at everyone pointing his digit "FOLD AND SEPARATE!" he also told us off for having a bit of a giggle at his expense.
Yesterday we spent most of it at central park, did a bit of rowing, sunbathing and cess had to go to the toilet every 20mins as a result of all the salty water. in the evening we decided to head to little india in the lower east side for a curry, but ended up havin a peruvian instead- was quality!! It was just like nando's but even tastier, we would recommend it to anyone, but first we have to remember what the name of it was. After that we went to the Cinema to see Miami Vice, it was a bit cheesy, but the audience participation made every cent of the $10.75 entry worthwhile!
so today we spent most of it walkin along the hudson, visited the jewish heritage museum, was quality but well harsh, worth a visit. checked out wall st, got the free ferry to staten island to get a pic of statue of liberty- dubs wanted to visit the wu-tang shop but was too long.
so now we're jus chillin with julian and flora, about to av our 1st homecooked meal in ages. gettin an early nite as tomorrow morning we're getting to a bar at 8am to catch the football.
love and miss u all, send us messages, take care
