Well peeps its been a great few days since last I blogged. I've been chillin like a villain in Samara. Ben was a day late getting in so Kurt, Jules and I whipped Krystal back home to Coco last Friday and Ben ended up coming by cab on the Saturday. We've been having a blast. Surfing together and hanging with the community. It's amazing how everyone around here knows one another. What's funny is that even though Ben was not here for my first week I ended up meeting and becoming friends with a lot of his same group. It's interesting how we all gravitate towards those good people. What an amazing community spirit Samara has. A good summary of the last few days: Surfing as much as possible. I was able to take in a couple more sunset and after dark surfing experiences that I will not forget. Saturday night Ben and I rocked the house at an open mic night at Rancheros. It was pretty cool to play in Samara and our music was well received. I might even get a video clip to throw on the site. We met Sheel. He is a local chiropractor and a phenomenal musician. He is also a friend of 'conspiracy Mike'. We had a dinner party at our cabina. It was a blast. Each person brought over one of their favorite foods or bevy's and we all took turns making our dishes. Ben made Sangria's, Kurt put together hot bean dip that was pretty f'in good, Jules made a special tea, I made a huge pot of homemade pasta sauce, and Anita put together a delightful banana and nut dessert. We played guitar and Mike brought out a set of bongos. Latoya brought over a friend as well named Clara. Her voice was incredible as she sang several songs for us. All in all we had an amazing night just hanging out. The next day was another beach trip with Jules, Ben and Anita. Kurt was still 'sick' from our Sangria an beer party hahahahaha. What a beautiful spot. As we swam there were schools of bait fish swimming all around us and jumping about when a wave hit. They were hitting us in the face and bouncing all around. A flock of about 8 pelicans were happy to see them as well and dive bombed the bay for bills full of fish. Ben, Mike and I took a trip up to Sheel's place and jammed for a few ours in his private music studio on the hill. On tuesday i had my tattoo finished off by Mike. Ben and I rented a car and headed up to Coco in preparation for my early morning flight back to Canada. Thanks to Krystal for the pool party, guitars, drinks and beds to sleep in! That brings me to now. Im at the aeropuerto eating my last Costa Rican Gallo Pinto with Chilero salsa picante. Last one for this trip anyway. I leave behind the lovely warm salt air, humidity, the sand between my toes, the surf, all my new friends, the incredible Pacific Ocean swims and the beaches. I take with me tons of incredible memories and the anticipation of a return trip soon!
