Hello fellow sports fans! Long lost Dan here. Well i'm not really lost, i'm in Costa Rica and the weather is fine, the scenery is fine ;) and yet i still find myself daydreaming of the amazing people i love back home at times. This trip was for reflection and recharging and that's what i'm doing! I am enjoying the company of all the new friends i am making here; we are having a blast. The last few days have been relaxing. Pura Vida as is the local way. The pure life, the good life, the feeling of freedom and the ability live life to the fullest. Free from the strangle hold of want and excess which can be smothering in Canada..........if you let it! Krystal my new photographer friend got wacked it the forehead/bridge of the nose by her surfboard the other day. It looked a lot worse than it was at the time; none the less it was impressive! A bad day of surfing is still better than a good day of work. I have been surfing as much as possible in between half day trips with Kurt and Jules. Yesterday Kurt was having trouble with his SUV so we hitch hiked to a local beach called Carrillo (sp) it is a long beach of almost white sand extending several kilometers in a relatively well sheltered bay. The beach itself is lined by rocky outcroppings on the North and South and the extends from the road about 200 meters to the waters edge. Parallel to the road and is a stand of tall coconut trees 5 or 6 trees deep and it extends the length of the beach. It is a beautiful sight. We hung out there for about three hours, took photos, swam talked and napped in the sun. It was a perfect day for us white folks, with intermittent sun. The water was a cool and refreshing reprieve at times. My closest friend in the world arrives tonight and we are off to Pick him up from Liberia at 930 pm and drop Krystal back off in Coco. Ben is here now till I leave. I've been looking forward to his arrival. The company will be well received. I'm sure the next 5 days will be awesome just chillin and surfing, drinking and enjoying playing some music together. Enjoy the photos i've just posted and i'll see you all sooner than you may think. Texass out.
