After a rather bumpy flight in from Malaysia we arrived in Chiang Mai where we were greeted by the lovely Mrs Prachitt as soon as we walked through the door! After leaving byron bay we were very in need of warm air and sunshine.. So our next adventure began in Malaysia! We arrived in the big city of Kuala Lumpur in the early hours of Thursday morning ( and let's just repeat this.. Early being like 5am!). We arrived in the Gold Coast to warm sunny weather.. The sun shining which was a plus after the tropical rain showers in cairns (didn't do wonders for our hair). We headed to our first hostel in surfers paradise..Wasn't exactly a paradise.. A rather built up city that was slightly on the tacky side - I mean shopping was good but still haha! The day before arriving in Brisbane we were up again at 6:45am to commence the long 8 hour bus journey back to Christchurch airport, which we slept most of the way. Our bus got into the airport at 4:30pm and our flight wasn't until 6:35am the next day! This left us with 14 hours to kill, let's just say there is nothing to do at this airport and no where comfortable to sleep.
