After leaving byron bay we were very in need of warm air and sunshine.. So our next adventure began in Malaysia! We arrived in the big city of Kuala Lumpur in the early hours of Thursday morning ( and let's just repeat this.. Early being like 5am!). We finally managed to navigate our way to the skybus (40 minute journey that only cost us £1!!) half asleep and struggled to keep our eyes open the whole way..shame match sticks aren't allowed in hand luggage ;). When dropped off we had to then get a taxi to the hostel (back home KL) - very long journey.. To then have the driver ask us where to go?! Finally arrived at the hostel and it was lovely.. Clean, nice beds, near the centre! We were also greeted to a breakfast of as much toast as you could eat and at last a cup of tea (but it wasn't anything compared to a cup of tetley or Yorkshire.. Disappointed to say the least!) there was no milk.. Just creamer.. YUCK! We met a lovely group of guys whilst being in the hostel 20 minutes! All either American or English.. Oh and German :).. Only meeting them a little while before..we decided to go to the famous 'batu caves' they were pretty impressive however the monkeys were really scary and you had to watch out to make sure they didn't grab your water bottles or cameras! They were everywhere (just like on temple run haha!). We had a very tiring day as we did walk up what seemed like a billion steps! - stopped in china town for a spot of lunch.. Me and Jess shared a plate of egg fried rice.. After which we were both sick of it after that 1 portion.. Not good whilst in Asia!! After a night on the town in a bar which seemed to be the only one with thai hookers and ladyboys (the guys didn't seem to mind!) we headed back to the hostel - not forgetting we tried to get into the sky bar but ended up taking pictures by the petronas towers instead! Amazing all lit up with a parade of water fountains in front! We had a good nights sleep although there was a 50 odd year old man in our room who was constantly snoring.. Slept on his boxers and ended up in an unsightly position in the morning! (Not a glorious wake up picture!) The second day spent at the shopping mall, looking around the town and Jess spending money in china town.. More T-shirts of course ;). We managed to track down a taxi to take us to the airport (bloody hard to do in rush hour!) however his exhaust suddenly made a pound bang and the car tarted filling up with smoke.. We had to yell at him to let us put of the car so we could walk.. Jess having to kick the door down.. Very eventful! Now having to walk down a fast, busy main road with our backpacks and 2 items of hand luggage each (thank god we had Bruce with us!) was a trek but we finally made it onto the sky bus to the hotel before having to catch our flight to Thailand to begin our next adventure :)
