We visited a fabulous art gallery along the main canal which was privately owned and housed thousands of treasures. Some of the paintings were 4 or 5 meters square, and one beauty was maybe 10m x6m.
Then we boarded on our fast train for the journey to St. Petersburg in the north. The train travels at 200+km/hr and is very smooth. They have tried to put too many seats into it. Much to Eliz horror we are traveling backwards with no real window. Worse still our tour guides have spacious seats with great views. Sadly we have seen nothing of the country on this train trip. Really expect better from captains choice where you pay a premium for quality. they might hear back on this small hiccup of an otherwise good trip.
We arrive there tonight around six at another excellent hotel. As u can see we have Internet on the train which helps pass the time.
Surprisingly there is a guy on tour who was in Augusta for the masters on our tour, plus plenty of other golf tragics so might pull a game over here yet.
