An early start for our tour of palace of Versailles, the last palace of French royalty before the revolution. Lois 14 built an amazing monument to the excesses of the nobles. The stables were magnificent, the carriage building and the massive palace surrounded by 1000s acres of opulent gardens. We slept in and after breakfast surrounded by burkas; we headed up to champs élysées to join a city tour which took us around all the big sites and gave us a good feel for Paris which we have not visited for 14 years or so, when last here with the girls. After disembarking we did a short tour of a Copenhagen fishing village then sat around airport for a few hours. We arrived in Paris on time a immediately connected with our driver who delivered us to our lovely boutique hotel which is in a great location not far from champs elleyses.
