The last few weeks I have spent most of my time trying to get in to some sort of routine, not to mention getting used to all of my classes. The unfortunate thing is that here there are a bunch of General Education classes (also known as GE's), which means that the classes I am taking right now, have absolutely nothing to do with my major. Though I have to admit, taking a Theater class is fascinating!
After class, my favorite activity is to go to the beach! One of the perks of living in Hawaii. Mandatory gloating aside, after my first week burn-my-back fiasco, I have been very careful with not being there for too long and making sure that I use sunscreen! However, it is wonderful to be able to go to the beach after class! My closest beach is Waikiki beach, which also means that it is normally crowded with tourists. There have also been some interesting things happenings there.
One is having a random camera crew there interviewing tourists.
That being interesting to witness, the more exciting event was the Hawaii 5-0 premier of season 4 at Sunset Beach. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love crime shows, Hawaii 5-0 being one of them. So I really wanted to go to the premier, as it was the day before the episode would be aired on TV. The problem was that nobody really knew at what time it would start, as it wasn't said anywhere. Me and a friend of mine who is a Jonas Brothers fan (they were to have a short concert after the premier) went to the beach around seven, and the place was already packed. We thought we wouldn't be able to see anything. Fortunately, when the episode finally started at about 8 or 9pm, everybody sat down, and we actually had a really good view.
Before the episode started, they had some speeches and short performances up on the stage. The cast of Hawaii 5-0 was also there, which was pretty cool! Once the episode ended, some of the people started to leave, and we were able to shuffle our way up closer to the stage to see the concert.
Lastly, I have received a care package from Finland, which has been another highlight of the past few weeks, as my lovely parents sent me my comforter, some Finnish food, and most importantly Fazers chocolate!
I do not miss the cold and dark winters of Finland, but man do I miss the chocolate! Thank you mom and dad! <3
