Nemrut to Erzerum
Another great but long day. Firstly took the Count up to the very top of Nemrut up a gravel track with extremely tight hairpins by myself. It's a good job I'm a fully-fledged international adventurer otherwise I would have been scared witless. The Count mumbled something about a load of superstitious nonsense about a bunch of old stones. I explained to him that it was the only man made mountain in the world cos someone had increased its height by carting up a load of stones, all he said was that he had a much better use for all the blood and u could keep the sweat and tears. Carried on down the mountain and discovered the drops we would have gone off had we slipped the previous night - I'm glad we couldn't see. Then did some fantastic off road in the mountains down to the ferry across the lake. It's a good job we had Lee's gps tracks or we would still be in the mountains. The ferry was short and luckily we arrived just in time to catch it. then we started the long hot ride up to Erzerum great scenery and good roads half way up we ran across one of the lads repairing his pannier as he'd had a fastish off on a sharp bend he thinks he hit a large pothole half way round the bend and it knocked him off line and into the gravel. Bit of a sore leg and some small pannier damage. All glad to get Erzerum.
