Jeonju to Seoul
So we're off to the big city, a hot sweaty ride in the high 30s with god only knows what humidity. First part is great smooth tarmac and open roads then we start to hit the cities, these places are huge it finishes with the last 50 kilometres of solid city it looks like Pyongtaek, Suwon and Seoul have all merged into one great mega-city it's huge. We follow route 1 into the city because we're not allowed to use the freeways - a bit like using the A1 not the M1, I'm daydreaming so miss a turn which puts into the small streets of the mega-city it takes us an hour to get out - won't be doing that again. Everything works well until we get into the centre of Seoul, luckily I've been here before so I know you have to cross the river Han before you get to the centre so I head for one of the bridges just as I get on it the sat nav indicates a right turn and like a fool I follow it, we get completely lost after another hour we manage to get back on the correct route and cross the river to get to the hotel. I'd say without a waypoint to find the place we would never have made it, the place is too big and the traffic too heavy to make any progress unless you have a very good idea of where you're going, one mistake costs you hours in recovery time. None the less, being a city boy, I love this place a spot where you can tickle every fancy and have every fancy tickled - great.
