Ulan Ude to Vlad Day 4
Roads suddenly improve some dirt but only in road works the rest is brand new tarmac hardly used. I get a video of "Ze Count" doing the ton BACKWARDS down the first set of good tarmac, beat that Dom Hah!. It's also getting warmer and the mosquitoes and midges are in serious attack mode you can't stop without using your head net and don't dare take off your gloves, my head, arms and hands all have bites to say nothing about my backside - I'll spare you the detail but wild camping means no showers and no toilets which means there are several occasions when ones posterior is exposed. It seems no matter how quickly you "take care of business", and trust me you do it quickly after the first time, they somehow manage to home in on you or more definitively your bum. The campsite is on a disused section of road alongside the main highway, we can't camp in the surrounding fields because the insect problem makes the fields unusable. This leads to another night without proper sleep this is beginning to wind me up, I'm sure there must be local accommodation we could be using, my definition of wild camping does not include camping in a lay-by at the side of the main Vladivostok road. It's beginning to feel like KUDU hasn't done the necessary prep work to establish a more sensible arrangement.
