Day off in Bishkek
Well it's confirmed Neil's leg is broken a fracture of the Tibia. Apparently the pannier hit him between the top of his Alpinestars and the bottom of his knee guard, I really must get some proper knee guards sorted. He's understandably upset especially as he says the next section is the part of the trip he was most lucking forward to. I've tried to prepare myself for this kind of event should it happen to me but I guess inside you always think it'll never be you. Of course one day …To be fair I'd find it hard to complain if it did happen I've had a charmed life so far … and long may it continue. Had a wander around Bishkek with Colin picked up a couple of local pies they are truly fantastic this country has got loads to offer its definitely in the visit again category. The locals are outgoing to a fault we stopped yesterday to put our rain gear on within seconds a van pulled up and out and out jumped 3 or 4 guys who had us all gathered in a group for photos while this is going on another group pull up and before long we're surrounded by 8 or 10 Kyrgz. Then one of them pulls out a bottle of vodka and starts offering it around; by the time we left there was a full-blown street party kicking off at the side of the road - great people. Had a bit of a party to say goodbye to Neil the boys dug up some roast chickens and made up a bit of a salad seemed to cheer him up a bit but a sad occasion.
