Hi, Anna (B), Ellen (M), Lizzie and John!! I've thought of you all many, many times! I just caught up this afternoon with your blog, photos and (new!) videos. The strange cold (or, as we came to call it, after weeks, the PLAGUE) we all had stayed with me until a week ago, and hit Ian very hard indeed. I broke down and got an antibiotic, which finally got rid of it. Things here continue sort of the same (grey skies in Holland, anyway), but I'm already planning for spring and thinking about what flowers to plant this year (last year, the 300+ bulbs (they're REALLY cheap here) I planted didn't come up very well, so I think I'll stick to annuals. I've been to Amsterdam a few times (for fun; although I'm there daily, on the outskirts for work) and it really is a wonderfully beautiful city. I'm quite content to live in Leiden, though. So, off to Majorca this week! That will be so exciting, to be under sail again, and to a new, very different place. Maybe because I now live so much nearer things and places I want to see, it's hard to sit still! I'm planning on another trip (did the first about 11 years ago) to Lebanon in late May, to visit an old friend who lives in Tripoli, and sing in a concert of his. And I've decided to vote for Obama, after reading up on him. He's v.v. smart and not corrupt (hasn't accepted any lobbying money). Organizing my absentee ballot takes some work, but I'm determined to cast my vote.
What else? Reading thrillers (Patricia Cornwell). Getting to the job, doing the job and getting home eats up nearly the whole day! I'll know this month if I'll be getting a permanent contract (and hence, a permanent residence permit), so have crossed fingers. Lots of love to the dancing girls/fairies/princesses and their parents!

Finally found some quiet time to sit and read through your blog and photos. Sounds like you are having a ball and really settled into life on the open seas! The girls look to have grown up so much, all that fresh air is obviously good for them! We are still in Scotland and plans are forever changing. Will be back in Greece by March though and intend to be in Ionian until October 2008. The reports you hear about great sailing, cheap mooring and friendly people are all true, we have really enjoyed our time there, hence we're going back! Would indeed be good to cross paths, wont say bump into you - made that mistake already!!, All the best for 2008, Nat, Willie and boys XX
