Arggh what a long day!
Up at 3 am to catch our oversized taxi that I had booked for 4 am to take us to JFK.
We called Rabi when they were late, only to realize she had booked them for 4:30 am!!! And that there was a miscommunication and now 2 small taxis were on their way. I was nearly having conniptions, by the time they arrived.
Turns out they don't even own a big taxi!
We got there late, and when the lady processing us saw our tickets, she said 'I'd you don't have this done in one minute, you will miss your flight. Flight is 6, luggage closes at 5:30, it is 5:25!'
Oh my giddy aunt!
We just made the flight, last on and the last lady processing us was getting stressed to do it on time! Her hands were trembling.
JetBlue was a great airline. In flight entertainment, free snacks on tap extra space! I liked it much better than southwest.
A soon as we landed in Florida, we fell in love.
I didn't realize how draining the New York part of our trip was till we got off that plane. It felt like a holiday the minute we got off. Warm weather and just something holiday-ish about it. Love, love, love.
We drove our new rental straight to Universal. Before entering the park we did Bubba Gumps!! It was fun and not at all crowded.
Then we started the Universal experience. Today was Universal Studios. We got a stroller to contain the 7 yr old and then set off.
We split up to have the thrill seekers do the Mummy and the rest did Disaster. The Mummy was a massive hit- all 3 minutes of it. I enjoyed Disaster fine. The guy leading it was a very good actor.
Next we met up to do the Simpsons. The 70 minute line was only 50 minutes long..... Ai ai ai!
It was. Fabulous simulation ride. Crazy good. Too short.
We were sad to miss the Despicable Me ride.
They were the only rides we did, though we did a show- Beetlejuice. It was a real crowd pleaser. All of us enjoyed it. Bodie found it highly entertaining.
As we were leaving for our Fogo de Chao reservation, the parade started up. I am not sure which parade, but it was of a high quality with gorgeous bright costumes and all the characters worked the crowd like they hadn't done it a gazillion times.
By this time we were exhausted. We were able to get into our amazing restaurant a half hour early. Fogo is a Brazilian meat restaurant. First was the most impressive salad bar I have seen as far as quality, expensive items. Smoked salmon, antipasto meats, European cheeses, marinated vegetables and even platters of expensive vegetables like asparagus.
Once we turned our individual discs from red to green, the meat carvers bright round skewers of meat. All different kinds.....
We raced in to get our envelope with key and info about our condo.
The condo is spacious and often. No wifi code!!!!
