Okay, so I'm quite behind on this, but fear not! It's because I've been having sucha great time, not because of anything in the opposite realm.
Paris was how I wanted and imagined it to be. I set my expectations really low and I was pleasantly pleased. the catacombs were crazy cool, I wrote a poem about the experience, so essentially I had probably a million or so muses' for a single poem, if that makes sense.
A close friend of mine(the same one I met up with in San Sebastian) was at my hostel, and we made friends with this really awesome girl from melbourne that I'd really like to see again, she was so funny. Soooo funny.
the three of us sat near the sacre coeur on our last day, had a great conversation about ethical eating and ethical purchases, and then started chatting to this trendy group of french kids, around our age, and thenn, we ended up being led around Montmartre by locals. Personal tour guides. They were extremely tired and hadn't slept at all because they'd been out partying the previous night (Or doing the 'disco disco', as we would say), but they were competent.
The coolest part about this experience was that we were meant to go to Versailles that day. We had woke up early. We dragged our sorry butts outa the twin sized bed we'd shared the night before. We were well ready, in the early morn'.
But our new friend had gone out the night before, and woke up late, which made us quite late, and after a few little turn of events we decided nah, f*** it. cause apparently the wait in line for Versailles is like 2 hours. HAH! Ha. Ha.
so Montmartre it was, home of Amelie Poulin, Moulin Rouge, and so many adorable cafe's.
I loved it.
Im going to have another Europe trip in a few years, maybe in my late twenties. And it will consist of this.
12 months.
12 cities.
Every month, new city.
My new dream.
And Paris, you've made the list.
