Woke up to another grey day this morning...I was starting to get a bit fed up with Byron and travelling in general! I went to the beach for a bit and then to Peterpans to use the Internet when it started to rain, stayed there until the afternoon when I could check back into nomads hostel for the night.
Once I had dumped my bag I went back to the beach, it was quite nice because the weather was clearing up a bit! I lay there listening to Harry potter for a while and just generally trying to cheer up as I was in such a foul mood! After about an hour Kat texted me to say she had arrived and I got her to come and meet me at the beach. It was really nice to see her again! We sat chatting for a bit then started to walk towards the lighthouse to see julia and Christina, but the sky was looking pretty ominous so we turned back rather than getting wet! We went back to Peterpans - which I was getting pretty sick of! - and stayed till the rain passed. We met Julia and Christina there and said bye to them as they were heading south that night!
When it started to brighten up we walked along the beach for a bit, intending to go to the lighthouse. We ended up stopping at Captain Cook's lookout and watching the surfers for about an hour! It was really cool, the surf there is awesome, the waves go so far! We decided to go surfing the next day, I couldn't believe I hadn't bothered to go yet!
After that we went back and had dinner at CM's, then had showers and met back at Aquarius (where Kat was staying) for a few drinks in the bar there. There was speed dating on in the bar which was pretty funny to watch! When that was all over we ended up going to a place called Woody's for a bit of a dance, but neither of us were very drunk and pretty soon we called it a night and shared a kebab (prompting a conversation about The Sphinx haha!) then went to bed!
I got back to find a group of English guys in my room who were all travelling together...seriously noisy and pretty annoying. They were nice enough but after a while I just wanted to sleep and they weren't making it easy! When they finally did all settle down, a few hours later their friends arrived home, making as much noise as possible and turning the lights on and off. I was so unimpressed...after telling them to shut up they eventually quietened down...felt like I was babysitting a teenage sleepover or something!
