Up reasonably early this morning to do a tour to Nimbin! I'd heard really good things about it so was looking forward to it. It's meant to be a hippy town and really cool. The tour we had picked was supposed to take us to the Sunday markets, then Nimbin, then to a BBQ lunch and to a waterfall to swim in, and then back to Byron.

When we got on the bus we were told that the markets were cancelled because of flooding which was really disappointing as I had been really looking forward to them! Not much that could be done though, and we headed on to Nimbin. We stopped at a random country pub on the way (bit weird to stop for a drink at 10 am...) and got to Nimbin around 12. It turned out that the lunch wasn't going to be until 3 - that was a bit unexpected, we were all starving! So we went in search of a bit of food. Nimbin is a really weird place, really small, and full of hippies! Don't really know how to describe it. We went into the "museum" which was really random...not much of a museum really but kind of cool to walk through. We ended up just chilling in the park after a walk around town, waiting for the bus to go!

After nimbin we stopped for our BBQ lunch (standard sausage sandwiches - normal backpacker food) and then went to the waterfalls, which were nice enough but nothing overly exciting! It was far too cold to actually go swimming by that stage too. Slept most of the bus journey back - as much as I could with the loud music! The whole trip was a little underwhelming!

We had also been told that dinner was included on the trip - this amounted to a free dinner voucher for cheeky monkeys, the place that we had been getting free dinner every night anyway! And it wasn't even open on Sundays! Bit of a fail all round really!

When we got back to town I hung out with Gwen for a bit because she was waiting for her bus south, then went to bed and read my book for a bit, even though it was mega early - like 8!

After a bit I was seriously bored, as were the Norwegian girls in our room, so we ended up going for a bit of a wander around town and had a drink in a bar near the hostel, but none of us were really feeling it so went to bed pretty soon after that'
