(29 November)
I was woken up by Scott this morning, he had come back early to pack up his stuff to leave. Our minivan was leaving at 11 from Georgetown. We had a minor issue because we missed our stop and ended up going the whole way to the end of the line - it was a good thing we had left loads of time to get there! The journey wasn't too bad, just 4 or 5 hours and then we arrived in the Cameron Highlands!
We had been told that Father's Guesthouse was good, but the van dropped us at Kang Guesthouse which was cheap and looked ok so we just stayed there! We chilled out for a bit, booked a tour for the next day from the hostel and then went in search of dinner.
My impression of the CH is that it's made up of loads of tea plantations, strawberry farms, and jungle etc, with small resort like villages in between. Scott described it pretty well as almost like ski resorts but without the skiing lol! It was a bit random! The best bit was that it was cold! Haha, was so nice to wrap up and wear trousers/hoodie etc after being so hot for so long...although we definitely could have done with a warmer blanket for the nighttime!
The girl in the hostel recommended an Indian for food which was actually amazing! Scott had a banana leaf set meal thing, got this huge leaf covered in loads of different stuff, it looked awesome! I just had a garlic naan but it was amazing, really big and came with 3 different sauces, for about 50p! Was really good. We had a wander around the village bit looking at shops etc then just had a few beers at the hostel bar before bed...it wasn't really the most exciting place in the world but good to chill!
