Katakolon Greec-Olympia
Some of the artifacts uncovered from the Olympia site which were fitted in the pediments or gable ends of the Temple of Zeus, they vary in size but most are around double a normal persons size and there were apparently four sides of the temple fitted with these. The Museum was built on the site just for the storage of these relics and it is a very modern facility with huge amounts of storage and it already has on show many magnificent items from Greek history covering Olympia. The quality of the carvings is superb with magnificent detail shown and there are huge numbers of weapons, tools and everyday items from the site.
