Archaeologists are still working on the area uncovering all manner of buildings and relics. Excavation started in 1875 and has been going on intermittently ever since. You can see how much soil is on top of the excavation and this area is on the side of a hill with the main site some metres below so you get an idea of how much material has been moved to uncover the site of Olympia over the past 140 years.
