The Temple of Zeus where the original columns lay as they have fallen after earthquakes with the newly made column in the background. It must have been a truly magnificent sight in its day with 34 huge columns standing complete with top stones and decorations all beautifully carved, the temple housed a statue of Zeuss which took around 12 years to carve which was decorated with gold and precious stones but unfortunately it was destroyed.
