Hi everyone!! Been a while since I've been on t'internet so thought I'd give you a wee idea of what I've been up to!
Monty and I left melbourne a couple of months ago in the rental car and made our way up the east coast stopping off at Eagle point for a night (having picked up a hitch hiker) and then headed on to Canberra. After the long 8 hour drive, a quiet pint was first on the list so it was off to the local Irish pub (mistake!!!) A good 5 hours later we dragged ourselves back to our hostel (we had stumbled into an Aussie guys birthday party and decided to get in to the spirit(s)).
Next was the Blue Mountains just outside Sydney. The views were absolutely spectacular, we hiked along a small trail for around 3km to see the famous three sisters rocks and then on a bit for an amazing panoramic view! Sydney was the next stop for 2 weeks which were spent lazing in parks, seeing sights and a few sociables every now and then. Met up with Tanya again on her staff night out and had a wicked time! After a couple of weeks it was time to move on, Port Macquarie was a callin'!
Monty went off up the coast on his own to do surfers paradise, Byron bay, etc and I stayed in the Port as funds were running low. We did meet up with Gemma and Tilley(mates from uni) which was great fun. The next week was full of relaxing on the beach, body boarding which was minted fun, beer and fishing. After five hours on the docks Tilley eventually landed an absolute beast of a fish(about 3 inches long LOL) and we retired happy. Before long it was time to move on again and off to the bright lights of BRISVEGAS!!
I arrived in brisbane very tired and one of Linsey's mate Marina kindly took me in for a couple of weeks so I could get myself settled. (a big thank you is due to Mim, Derek and Chris). Since then, I moved to the bunk backpackers in the valley where I met a tonne of great people including Sarah and Arlo (canadian) Chris, Dale, Nat (English) Liam, Tony, Fergie, Laura and Sarah (Irish) and Becky n Jill (Geordies). While I was there I got myself my Blue card and started doing labouring work on construction sites, it was mostly jack hammering which is an absolute killer! Been on a few good nights out including Chris' 21st birthday where I had to pick him off the floor and carry him home at 10.30(always knew the english were lightweights LOL)
I just moved into a shared house the other day with monty and around 20 other Irish, I think it's a bit of a novelty for them having a "foriegner" in the house!
So at the present moment I am waiting on phone calls for work and not doing anything too exciting but I'm sure that will change soon!
Hope everyone is well back home and around the world, I hope to be in touch with each of you soon! Take care, big luv to you all!
