Hey hey everyone, finally got my finger out and got back on T'internet to tell you about my adventures to date!! Well, since the last time I wrote I've been back to Sydney for a few days (during which I watched scotland take a beating form th Italians, which was followed by a marathon 24hr beer guzzling binge to help forget about it!!!) and going to the zoo to see gorillas for the first time! We also went on a wine tasting tour to the hunter valley which was great, it reconfirmed my suspicion that I'm am actually quite partial to a drop of........well, alcohol!!lol
The hostel we were staying in was in Kingscross, which is kind of like soho in London but a little less subtle!! Needless to say there were a few interesting people floating around, but we did meet some normal ones too, including Liam the weige and Jodi from Elgin (hey guys, cheers for poining me in the direction of goon!!!lol)
The cautious one and I decided to head down here to Melbourne for a week or so before we have to get jobs up in the big smoke of Brisbane. It's been relatively low key so far, just trying to conserve the old pennies as best we can! We've even figured out how to scam the trams, get a day ticket, don't validate it and if you get asked for your ticket by an inspector just do the tourist bit and plead ignorance. If not, keep the ticket for another day (i've had mine for 5 so far!! but ssshhhhhh!!)
The other big news (and this ones for you Jonny!!) is that I paid a visit to the birth place of Australian civilization..............Ramsey Street!!! We grabbed the Neighbours tour bus with Emma, Katie and Jenni (who we met up with again down here) watched a few old episodes while we travelled (Daphnies death, classic!!) went to Erinsbourgh High and then on to the street itself!! I was shocked, it bloody tiny!! After doing the whole tourist bit and having my photo taken with every house, tree and blade of grass on the hallowed ground it was off to meet an official Neighbours supastar......Janelle timmons!!! One word, Quality!
Other than that its been quite quiet, apart from the occasional shandy obviously! (went to see Ed Byrne at the comedy festival too, I was crying by the end!!) I'm still trying to get my photos up but it just ain't working (either that or I'm just a muppet) so linsey, if your reading this, you'll be getting a cd or 2 in the next week or so at Mum and Dads and if you could put them up it would be mint!!!
Well I'm off to resume the life fantastic, hope everyone back home and round the world is well and not misbehaving too much!
Much love,
Donald
