Eggs poached in maple syrup. Beans in maple syrup. How some things you can rely on.
My boss telling a story in spanish, and halfway through realising it was the joke I'd heard him tell in french that morning. I've now heard it in three languages.
Adding a removal van to the list of vehicles of which I've been foolishly allowed at the wheel.
Trying to engage in basic conversation with my fellow workers in three different languages. Bypassing language barriers altogether when my hood gets stuck in a giant roll of plastic, to much hilarity.
A second wind around four o'clock and knowing I'll make it through the day despite what I thought at two. Waking up at nine on the sofa and thinking it's time for bed.
Trying to make my canadian money stretch until payday so as to avoid card fees. Failing. Borrowing money instead.
Reminiscing about a school trip to Boston with an old friend. Shock at recent pictures of the others who were there then.
Expressing my outrage at begin charged for receiving calls on a mobile.
Braving the canadian roads. Apologising to another driver for slightly mishandling a stop sign. Getting home in one piece.
Reading a borrowed book a second time within a week, not for lack of alternatives.
The sound of crushed leaves so thick you forget you're walking on the pavement.
Writing an undeniably self-indulgent summary of my week.

Raph 'no Raph, you went to Boston, I went to Toronto' yeah right
Dominic Yeah I brought that up.
Mark Freeston re: driving in Quebec... Don't you miss UK roundabouts?
Dominic Yes a little, although the idea of having to take them the wrong way round is possibly worse than stop signs.
