After our stay in Bowral for a couple of nights we headed back to Ann's place in Sydney .
That night we had arranged to meet Will and Chloe (the couple we had met in Cambodia a few months ago)
We went for a pub meal at the Orient Hotel and then for drinks on Darling Harbour. It was good fun to catch up with them.
The next day was Mothers Day in Australia and Nada had come up for the day to take Ann out for a meal.
Rich and Monty also came up and the four of us went to Taronga Zoo in Sydney....
We also meet up with one of Richards friends, Fiona and her two children.
The Zoo was really good and the views of the skyline and the harbour were amazing....those giraffes have the best view in Sydney!
After the Zoo everyone went there seperate ways and we caught the bus to Manly.
Manly is a gorgeous part of Sydney and the beach was really nice....we just wish we had the hot weather...doesn't seem to bother the surfers though!!
We caught the ferry back to Circular Quay. The ferry ride is brilliant and the views are fantastic....however when you first depart from Manly, the sea is quite rocky and we were sat on the deck outside and got soaked by some of the waves! As if we werent cold enough!!!!
We then went for a nice italian meal in The Rocks.
Our last full day in Sydney and of our travels.....
First we went for breakfast/lunch at a nice little cafe on Oxford Street and then walked into the main city. Was a nice walk, such a busy city.
Chloe had very kindly got us all free tickets to see the Sydney Roosters v Melbourne Storm however it was in Gosford which is just outside of Sydney.
So we had to catch a train to Macquarie university and Will drove from there.
Will was a Roosters fan and had bought us all old skool scarves to wear which was cool.
The game was brilliant, the pre-match build up was really entertaining and got the crowd going....however once the game started the atmosphere was alot different to England as they don't sing or chant, I would have liked to have heard some Old Faithful!
We all had hotdogs, pies, beer and sweets and cheered for the Roosters.....
Melbourne Storm won though.
After the game they took us back to the station where we said our goodbyes (hopefully they will visit us in England sometime!!) and we caught the train back into the city.
We had our final walk around the city before heading back to Ann's to get a good nights rest!!!
On our last day, Rich had arranged to come down and for the three of us to go out for lunch. Afterwards he took us to the airport.
We are currently sat in Sydney airport writing this blog waiting for our plan to board....
26 hours and will be back in England!!! Wow...
