Lovely scenery on the way to Monument Valley - Red stone hills everywhere. We stopped outside Monument valley at "the famous spot" as they call it where the road goes up to the hills, it was on Forest Gump when he goes back home.
We got a jeep tour round Monument Valley, it is mainly sand and huge giant red rocks. Such a relaxed place even more so as not many other tourists were there for the time of year. The tour guide took us to a cave and played the flute which echoed making it sound better. He kept stopping the jeep to show us interesting rocks. Then speeding the jeep across the bumps it was like a roller coaster!
Then we were taken to a hut they built it was so warm and they made dinner for us which was lovely.
Now as it was dark they put on a fire out side where the American Indian tour guide played some music and a Indian all dressed up danced to the music in certain ways one was called the grass dance!! They told historic stories as well under the stars and telling how we should keep positive and appreciate the important things in life every day. Interesting!
Then we got driven through the valley in the pitch black, it was so peaceful, definitely something to remember!
