Hello again!
After a four hour flight yesterday evening, we are now in Sydney for the last few days of our Australia stint. We spent a very relaxing week in Mosman, near Freemantle, enjoying the sunshine - although it was more comfortable sat in the shade at times as they had a mini heatwave which reached 36 degrees, their hottest spring day in thirteen years and the earliest time in October it has ever been that hot!
We spent a day in Freemantle and sampled the local fish and chips, which they seem to love here, although they are a bit stingy on their fish portions. We also went on the ferry across to Rottnest Island to explore and to see the quokkas. These are animals native to the island and look a little bit like giant rats, (but much cuter and less scurrying) hence the name Rottnest, which is Dutch for rats nest, given by a Dutch explorer who discovered the island.
We are now back in sightseeing mode and are planning to fit in as much as we can before we go to Fiji on Sunday for Adi and Stu's wedding, which we are really looking forward to - the resort looks amazing!
